Diversity Award

This award provides an opportunity for URM graduate students, postdocs, junior faculty, and scientists to receive funding assistance to attend MIC meeting at the University of Minnesota (free Registration fee). To be eligible for the Diversity Award, applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

Emerging Islet Biologist Award

This award provides an opportunity for graduate students, postdocs, junior faculty, and scientists to receive funding assistance to attend their first MIC meeting (free Registration fee). To be eligible for the Emerging Islet Biologist Award, applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Graduate student, postdoc, junior faculty, or research scientist representing a lab with a non-primarily islet biology focus.
  • Attending MIC for the first time

To apply for one of these awards, and applicant must first submit an abstract and must state interest for the award in the submission. Submission link 

Applicants who meet the above criteria are encouraged to apply for the travel award early. Support is limited and available on a first-come first-served basis. Final approval for a MIC travel award will be announced before March 24, 2023 and you will be given a discount code prior to registering for the meeting.
